The photo ID cards will be issued for North Dakota residents who do not have a driver's license. The cards will be free to anyone of voting age.
"These photo ID cards are a great option for individuals wanting to vote in the upcoming election," said Brad Schaffer, director of DOT's Driver License Division.
Dates and times for the photo ID events:
Standing Rock Sioux: Monday from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. at the Sioux County Courthouse,
303 Second Ave. in Fort Yates.
Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa: Tuesday from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. at Sky Dancer Casino, 3965 Sky Dancer Way NE in Belcourt.
Spirit Lake Nation:
Thursday from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. at the Blue Building, 816 Third Ave. N. in Fort Totten.
Mandan, Hidatsa, & Arikara Nation: Tuesday, Oct. 15, from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. at the Northern Lights Wellness Center, 710 East Ave. in New Town.
DOT staff will obtain photos and documents at the sites. The paperwork will be processed overnight, and the photo ID card will be mailed within five days.
Applicants must provide:
- A certified birth certificate, and court-issued name change if applicable (certified marriage certificate, divorce decree, adoption order)
- Social Security card
